Would you provide a summary or perhaps a link to another saved version of the rationale provided by Don Syme?
There is a workaround (see here), but it feels unnecessary of having to specify a separate alias file (especially if it would only be needed once, for example). Then again, I’m new to F#, so it would be educational to see how this feature would complicate things.
